Our Stories, Ourselves: A Writing Retreat
in Hawaii with Tristine Rainer!
Tristine Rainer invites women and men to the Island of Hawaii for a CAS
fundraiser! This intensive writing workshop entitled, "Our Stories, Ourselves:
A Writing Retreat in Hawaii with
Tristine Rainer."
This workshop
will
help you dive deeply and surface with the stories you want to
tell. We will use the beauty of the Big Island of Hawaii embodied
in the powerful goddess Pele to guide us to our own private mythos and
to write from it with clarity and purpose.
This five day workshop, from October 21 to 25, 2005 is limited to 15
participants and will include writing intensives, private consultation
with Ms. Rainer, and time to explore and enjoy the incredible majesty
of the Big Island.

"Screenwriting and Digital Filmmaking"

Upcoming Class in 2006
"Screenwriting:
The Movie in Your Own Backyard"
Digital
Filmmaking Hits Hilo!
The 2005 class was a tremendous success! Thank you to all who
participated!
The hottest phenomenon in filmmaking is the personal digital movie,
thanks to the recent success of Jonathan Caouette’s Tarnation, made on
an iMac for $218.32. Not every personal digital film has to be an
autobiographic docudrama, though; yours might be a comedy inspired by
your most embarrassing moment, a horror film impelled by a nightmare, a
romance that springs from your daydreams, or another genre. The first
step is to learn story structure, the foundation of all screenwriting,
and how to discover within yourself the story only you can tell.
